Electrician Diploma, Certificate and Degree Programs

Valier MT electrician on power line poleThere are several options to get electrician instruction in a technical or vocational school near Valier MT. You may choose a certificate or diploma program, or earn an Associate Degree. Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at a few schools, but are not as prevalent as the first three options. In many cases these programs are made available combined with an apprenticeship program, which are mandated by the majority of states to become licensed or if you want to become certified. Bellow are brief descriptions of the 3 most typical programs offered.

  • Diploma and Certificate Programs are generally offered by Montana trade and technical schools and require approximately a year to complete. They provide a solid foundation and are aimed towards students who would like to join an apprenticeship faster as a journeyman electrician.
  • Associate Degrees require 2 years to finish and are offered by Montana community colleges, usually as an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology. They provide a more well-rounded education while supplying the foundation that prepares students to enter into their apprenticeship program.

As previously mentioned, Bachelor’s Degree programs are offered at some Montana colleges, but are less popular at four years than the other briefer programs. The majority of states require that an apprenticeship of no less than 2 years and in most cases 4 years be carried out prior to licensing.
