Weleetka OK electrician on power line poleThere are multiple ways to obtain electrician training in a vocational or trade school near Weleetka OK. You may choose a certificate or diploma program, or obtain an Associate Degree. Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at a few schools, but are not as common as the other three options. Frequently these programs are made available together with an apprenticeship program, which are required by the majority of states in order to be licensed or if you wish to become certified. Bellow are brief summaries of the three most common programs available.

  • Diploma and Certificate Programs are typically offered by Oklahoma technical and trade schools and require approximately a year to finish. They furnish a good foundation and are geared towards individuals who wish to get into an apprenticeship faster as a journeyman electrician.
  • Associate Degrees involve two years to finish and are offered by Oklahoma community colleges, commonly as an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology. They furnish a more comprehensive education while providing the foundation that readies students to enter into their apprenticeship program.

As previously stated, Bachelor’s Degrees are accessible at certain Oklahoma colleges, but are less preferred at four years than the other shorter programs. Many states require that an apprenticeship of no less than 2 years and more typically 4 years be performed prior to licensing.
