Pine Apple AL electrician on power line poleThere are multiple options to get electrician instruction in a vocational or trade school near Pine Apple AL. You can choose a diploma or certificate program, or receive an Associate Degree. Bachelor’s Degrees are obtainable at a few schools, but are not as common as the first three alternatives. Often these programs are made available in conjunction with an apprenticeship, which are required by most states in order to become licensed or if you would like to earn certification. Following are brief explanations of the 3 most common programs available.

  • Certificate and Diploma Programs are usually provided by Alabama trade and technical schools and require approximately a year to complete. They provide a good foundation and are aimed towards individuals who would like to enter an apprenticeship faster as a journeyman electrician.
  • Associate Degrees take 2 years to finish and are offered by Alabama junior or community colleges, commonly as an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology. They offer a more comprehensive education while providing the foundation that prepares students to join their apprenticeship program.

As previously stated, Bachelor’s Degrees are offered at some Alabama colleges, but are less popular at 4 years than the other briefer programs. The majority of states mandate that an apprenticeship of at least 2 years and in most cases 4 years be carried out before licensing.
